JAKARTA - The Academy announced a list of names and films that were nominated for the Academy Awards or Oscars. Everything everywhere at Once, surprisingly leading the list with 11 nominations.

In addition, the two main stars - Michelle Yeoh and Ke Huy Quan also received nominations for Best Lead Actress and Best Actor in a Supporting Role. Both of them were both happy and touched because they received great appreciation from the Academy.

I was shooting in London. I woke up all day. When I sleep, I don't think about it but since this morning I have been feeling like 'Oh my God, what should I do?' said Michelle Yeoh, launching Variety.

Michelle Yeoh also felt a lot of representations from Asia this year in an Oscar nomination. Apart from her, there is Ke Huy Quan and StephanieOUT who was first nominated.

We were always there, but we didn't have the same chance. I hope this can change things. I hope, as actors, we are not chosen because we are Asian or African America or whatever. We were chosen because we worked well and we should have been given the opportunity," he explained.

"If you want your story to be reported - don't give up. Look at me, 40 years through it," he said.

A similar reaction was also conveyed by Yeoh's co-star, Ke Huy Quan. The return of the little legend to the big screen made him enthusiastic about imagining being on the red carpet of the prestigious award.

"Oh my God, I am very happy. This is one of the best days of my life. I watched Oscars for years. I always imagined being on the red carpet, indoors," said Ke Huy Quan.

When I stepped down from acting for more than 20 years, that dream disappeared. I thought I would never come back but thank God, I came back," he continued.

Ke Huy Quan is also honored to be in the same nominations with Steven Spielberg, the first to take him to the world of film in 1984.

I love that man with all my heart. This makes the award season even more special. Being with him and in the time when he made the most personal film, it was very special," said Ke Huy Quan.
