JAKARTA - Soloist Wonho announced his plans for military service in December. Highline Entertainment as an agency confirmed the news and gave a statement to fans.

"WONHO will undergo military service as a public service worker on December 5, 2022 to fulfill his responsibilities as a Korean citizen," Highline Entertainment said on Tuesday, November 15.

"WHO will carry out military duties and we ask for warm love and support until he completes his duties and returns in good condition," he continued.

On the same day, the former MONSTA X member wrote a letter to fans called WENEE. He uploaded his letter via his official fan cafe site shortly after the agency's announcement.

I will be in the military! Every day I spend with WEEE until now, we make a lot of memories together, even when we think about each other that day, there is time that will bring us together again," wrote Wonho.

"I'm going to prepare a lot so WEEE won't get bored and I hope WENEE spends time free and happy until later when we meet again," he continued.

WEE, ARE YOU guys going to wait for me? WEEE will spend the first Christmas without me from the first time we met," Wonho said.

Through his letter, Wonho promised to return in the summer to meet fans and release music again.

"I'm going back to WEEE's door, where I am, my house, everything," Wonho concluded.

Wonho first made his debut career at MONSTA X in 2015. In 2019, he opted out of the group after several rumors about his teenage years circulated on the internet. One of them was when he used marijuana when he was young.

MONSTA X's agency, Starship Entertainment announced that Wonho was not proven to have consumed marijuana and the rumors were fake. But Wonho left the group and joined Highline Entertainment, which is a subsidiary of Starship as a soloist.
