What Is Fomepizole? The Drug Brought By The Ministry Of Health To Overcome Accounting For Acute Kidney Failures

Framepizole Working Mechanism

Fomepizole is indicated as an antidote to glycol or methanol ethylene poisoning. If glycol or methanol ethylene poisoning is not treated, then the natural development of poisoning causes the accumulation of toxic metabolic acid, including glycolate and oxalate acid (poison of glycol ethylene) and format acid (mthanol poisoning).

The mechanism for the work of the drug pharmapizole is to block the formation of a toxic metabolite by tapering dehydrogenase alcohol. Thus, fomepizole can also be referred to as an inhibitor for dehydrogenase alcohol.

Then in patients with high concentrations of glycol or methanol ethylene (50 mg/dL), significant metabolic acidosis, or kidney failure, hemodialysis should be considered in order to remove ethile glycol or methanol and toxic metabolite in each alcohol.

Samping Effects of Fomepizole

Of the 78 patients and 63 normal volunteers who received antizol injection (fomepizole) were headaches (14%), nausea (11%), dizziness, drowsiness increase, and bad feeling/metal taste (6% each).
