JAKARTA - Jakarta Film Week 2022 officially opened on Thursday, October 13. The DKI Jakarta Provincial Government together with the DKI Jakarta Tourism and Creative Economy Agency (Disparekraf) collaborated with the Super Eight-Milimeter Foundation to hold an international scale festival.
This second event presents a series of local and international films. Ballad Si Roy by Fajar Nugros is the opening film from Jakarta Film Week 2022.
"We can see Jakarta Film Week in 2022 with new optimism as a sign of a new era in the film industry. Jakarta Film Week's continued step in its second year is not limited to attracting Indonesian filmmakers, but also internationally," said Andhika Permata as Head of the DKI Jakarta Province Tourism and Creative Economy Office.
"The film Ballad Si Roy is a monumental film because this is the first film for IDN Pictures. We made production at the beginning of the pandemic and worked on the script with Salman Aristo," said Susanti Dewi.
Balada Si Roy presented the figure of Roy (Abidzar Al Ghifari) with all the conflicts in his life when he moved to Serang with his mother. This film is an adaptation of the novel of the same name by Gol A Gong.
Jourdy Pranata as an ambassador for the festival also feels an honor. He hopes this festival can bring together filmmakers with their audiences.
I'm very happy to be a part of Jakarta Film Week. The hope is that the presence of this festival can continue to burn the enthusiasm of filmmakers, actors and all film activists to present more diverse and growing works," said Jourdy Pranata.
Jakarta Film Week 2022 will be held starting today, Friday, October 14 to Sunday, October 16 at CGV Grand Indonesia and Kineforum. All tickets can be accessed through the TIX ID application or offline.
