Become The Narator Eating Our Way To Extinction, Raline Shah Learning To Protect Earth

JAKARTA - Raline Shah became a documentary film titled Eating Our Way To Extinction which was translated into Indonesian into Enduring Human Stories. This experience made Raline learn a lot about the environment.

The film lasted about 81 minutes to take viewers around the world from the depths of the Amazon rainforest, Taiwan Mountains, the desert in Mongolia, to the Norwegian Fjord to see the current state of the environment, due to the presence of animal husbandry. A number of leading academics and figures took part in providing their presentation on the conditions that occurred.

"I learned a lot from this process. It's nice to see the results because visually, we can really absorb visual audio from reading information or being afraid of the facts of the earth, we are tired, not productive because of our own actions," said Raline in Jakarta.

Starting Our Way To Extinction was originally narrated by celebrity Kate Winslet. The film was launched internationally in the UK, Canada, Australia, and other countries last April and was narrated by local celebrities in their native languages.

In Indonesia, the film was narrated by Raline Shah and premiered today on YouTube. Raline said his involvement as a cover was due to friendship with the director of the photographer and director of the film, Ludovic Brockway.

"My involvement here is because there is a friend of mine, he is the director of photographer for this film and coincidentally we like to go hiking together. Finally, we went to the (mountain) of Kilimanjaro for this documultany," he said as quoted by ANTARA, Wednesday, September 7.

While at Kilimanjaro, he and Ludovic discussed various things, including whether to make this film a commercial or something more informative or educating the public, as well as the idea for films to be translated into various languages including Indonesia.

Ludovic, who suggested Raline to be aawasi untuk versi film yang berbahasa Indonesia. Raline mengaku tertangka sekaligus senang karena film dalam versi bahasa Indonesia akan lebih mudah masyarakat di tanah air.

"From English to Indonesian, usually there are more words to explain in one sentence in Indonesian, to be narrowed into a short scene, sometimes it is also difficult to explain properly and correctly," he said.
