Wanting To Follow Iko Uwais's Global Success, Jaka's Film Was Worked On By Hollywood Director And Rizzuto

JAKARTA - Jaka's action film with a local story from Indonesia is produced by Road Dog Entertainment, a Canadian production house. This film is prepared for the global market and hopes to be as successful as the film starring Iko Uwais: The Raid.

FILM Jaka is directed by Dan Rizzuto and co-written with Josh Mazerolle. They were previously involved in the box office film Deadpool, Night at The Museum, Nobody and were also involved in the Emmy Award-nominated TV series Human Target. Dan's first film debut was Torn: Dark Bullets (2020).

Jaka, played by Ramadhan Ruswandi, tells the story of an ordinary man, a loving father, who finds himself handcuffed during a family vacation by corrupt officials. Jaka is forced to do the dirty work to save himself and his son while uncovering the organizational mafia.

Jaka is a high-speed martial arts action film with a unique approach to action film production. Senior players such as Tio Pakusadewo (The Raid 2), Yayu Unru (Headshot) and Michelle Tahalea (The Big 4) are also involved in the production.

Elfina Luk, Producer of Road Dog Entertainment is very enthusiastic and optimistic that Jaka's film will be accepted by the global market. Elfina sees that there is a uniqueness in terms of culture, especially pencak silat and choreography in Indonesia. Elfina has worked in the film industry for decades in America and Canada, having been involved in the award-winning series The Good Doctor, Lucifer, iZombie, Hollywood blockbuster Skyscraper, SonSonic the Hedgehog, and Tully.

The same optimism also comes from Ryan Santoso, an Indonesian producer based in Georgia, United States. Ryan said that Indonesian action films have a special place in American society, discussions about action films by actors Iko Uwais and Joe Taslim are always an interesting topic when discussing Indonesian films.

As an Indonesian who has settled in America, Ryan aspires to bring international film projects to shoot or produce in Indonesia. Ryan's mission is to make Indonesia the best international film production site with Thailand.

Indonesia is also seen by Elfina and Dan as a country that has its own uniqueness because Pencak Silat as a worldwide martial art was born, and continues to grow. Indonesia currently has hundreds of pencak silat hermitages and tens of thousands of athletes from various genres. The beginning of the introduction of Road Dog in Indonesia stems from the Netflix series Wu Assassins which took place in Vancouver, Canada where Dan collaborated with Iko Uwais.
