No Cover, Rocker's Answer To American Idol

JAKARTA - A new program called No Cover looks for the best independent bands in the world. This program is the answer to American Idol.

No Cover is claimed to erase the American Idol trend of featuring standard pop music and completely replace it with original music, not cover. This program is said to be a fight against 'soulless' karaoke events.

The No Cover jury included shock rock icon Alice Cooper, Halestorm's Lzzy Hale, Bush's Gavin Rossdale, Animals as Leaders guitarist Tosin Abasi, and singer-songwriter Bishop Briggs. Sleeping With Sirens vocalist Kellin Quinn will co-host with SiriusXM's Caity Babs.

Meanwhile, interview sessions will be conducted with contestants by former MTV correspondent Matt Pinfield.

"I can't wait for No Cover," said Alice Cooper to launch Loudwire, Monday, November 2. “For me, a band is not really a band unless they write their own material, and if you know about me, you know that I have very high standards not only for songs but also for their performance. I'm looking for a band that has it all - who can not only write and play, but perform and make me BELIEVE. "

“I'm really excited to join my friends, co-workers, and fellow rockers as a judge for the Hit Parader's music competition TV show, No Cover. I hope my passion and experience will help inspire and encourage these young bands to carve out their own path in this world, ”added Lzzy Hale.

Launched by Hit Parader and created by Ash Avildsen of Sumerian Records and Golden Gods producer Josh Bernstein, the show will be filmed at Troubadour in West Hollywood, California.

The winner of the first season of No Cover will win massive prizes, including a six-album record deal with Sumerian Records, a booking agency representative from UTA, management of the Shelter Music Group, a high-profile festival slot through Danny Wimmer Presents, recordings at Nightbird Recording Studios, musical instruments new from Gibson, endorsements, licensing opportunities and more.
