JAKARTA - Money Heist: Korea - Joint Economic Area officially released today, Friday, June 24. This series adaptation of La Casa de Papel features the story of the greatest robbery led by someone called the Professor.

As is known, Money Heist Korea takes a different premise from the original version. This series tells the story of the process of South Korea and North Korea stopping war.

The characters and costumes shown have the same name but they have a new identity and ideology.

Here is the full synopsis of Money Heist: Korea - Joint Economic Area:

The unification of South Korea and North Korea led to the formation of a reunification currency. The Professor (Yoo Ji Tae) finds out about the plan and he sets up a group to steal the money.

The search for group members begins. The professor meets Tokyo (Jun Jeong Seo), a girl in her 20s from North Korea. He felt that capitalism was unfair to him in reaching his dreams.

Therefore, when he met the Professor, Tokyo agreed to join the robbery mission. Later, the Professor finds Berlin (Park Hae Soo) who has also worked in North Korea.

They also met Moscow (Lee Won Jong), Denver (Kim Ji Hoon), Nairobi (Jang Yoon Ju), Rio (Lee Hyun Woo), and Helsinki (Kim Ji Hun) and Oslo (Lee Kyu Ho).

They also intend to rob 4 trillion won at the Money Printing Building or UKM before the currency is announced to the public. However, the tactic was discovered by Seon Woo Jin (Kim Yoon Jin), an inspector at the Gyeonggi Police Crisis Negotiation Team.

Together with Cha Moo Hyuk (Kim Seung O), they set up a hostage rescue operation after the robbery was realized.

On the other hand, the chairman of UKM, Cho Yeong Min (Park Myung Hoon) feels uneasy about the robbery. He has an affair with his staff, Yun Mi Sun (Lee Joo Been) and causes her to become pregnant.

Cho Yeong Min chose Yun Mi Sun to be held hostage by a group of robbers so that Cho Yeong Min could survive. The robbery was filled with conflicts between members including the Professor himself.

Money Heist: Korea - Joint Economic Area is directed by Kim Hong Sun who worked on dramas such as The Guest and Voice. The script was done by Ryu Yong Jae, who previously worked on the Netflix series entitled My Holo Love.

The Money Heist Korea series consists of two parts and 12 episodes. The first part with six episodes can be watched starting today, Friday, June 24 on Netflix.
