Enmity With Hotma Sitompul Because Of Bela Desiree Tarigan, Hotman Paris Denies Violating The Code Of Ethics

JAKARTA - Hotma Sitompul and Desiree Tarigan's separation case has spread to Hotman Paris' lawyer. Hotman is known to be Desiree's lawyer to take care of divorce and distribution of assets.

In the middle of the case, Hotma admitted that he was willing to make peace with Desiree as long as he released Hotman Paris as a lawyer. At that time Desiree said he was not willing.

Hotma then reported Hotman to PERADI (Indonesian Advocates Association), as a lawyer who violated the code of ethics because he liked to show off his wealth on social media. Hotman was also reported for not being able to mediate the household of Hotma Sitompul and Desiree Siregar.

Desiree and Hotma Sitompul finally chose to make peace with the mediation process by the Chairman of PERADI, Otto Hasibuan. When the agreement was reached, Hotma Sitompul announced that Hotman Paris was suspended for three months from PERADI. This is because it violates the lawyer's code of ethics.

"We're holding this press conference not for anyone, not for Hotman Paris. This is all for the good of our lawyers. We know that there are bad figures who have been suspended for three months. Advocates are morally flawed, yes. If you want to reattach a broken plate, it's already broken, right. In the DPR, it's an inter-temporal change," said Hotma Sitompul, quoted from the Cumi Cumi YouTube channel, Wednesday, April 20.

Hotma Sitompul said Hotman Paris was not allowed to practice proceedings inside or outside the court.

"Brother Hotman Paris Hutapea has been suspended for three months. You are not allowed to speak, you can't do anything as an advocate, both outside the court and inside the court. Be aware. Hopefully you can wake up for the good of our advocate world," said Hotma.

"Hotman Paris's decision was proven to have violated the code of ethics and was temporarily suspended from the procession of all advocates in our lives. Besides religion, there is something more important is ethics. We must live ethically. If we don't finish it, "he concluded.

Not wanting to have a long polemic, Hotman Paris immediately took action on Hotma Sitompul's statement. He declared himself out of PERADI and joined the Indonesian National Lawyers Council (DPN).

Hotman Paris denies that he has violated the code of ethics because the code of ethics only applies when the lawyer is carrying out his duties and does not enter into the private sphere.

"In the inauguration of the Honorary Council of Peradi he said 'for the Honorary Council of Peradi to examine lawyers who show off their assets'. What does that mean? The Honorary Council of Peradi is only related to the code of ethics. It's as if I violated the code of ethics," he said in a video uploaded on Instagram.
