Rhea Chakraborty Detention Period Extended To 6 October

JAKARTA - The 14-day judicial detention of Rhea Chakraborty ended today. However, the NDPS special court extended the Bollywood actress's detention period to 6 October.

Earlier today, Rhea and Showik applied for bail at the Bombay High Court. The court will handle the matter on Wednesday.

Rhea was arrested by the Narcotics Control Bureau (NCB) on September 9 in a drug case related to the death of her boyfriend and actor Sushant Singh Rajput.

NCB told the court that Rhea was an "active member" of a drug syndicate and bought drugs for Rajputs.

The actress was charged under the Drugs and Psychotropic Drugs Act (NDPS) for her alleged role in the drug angle that emerged during an investigation into Sushant's death on June 14.

NCB registered the case at the request of the Directorate of Enforcement (ED) after alleged chatter showed Rheay, Showik's older brother and Sushant's home manager Samuel Miranda having ordered the drugs.
