Kang Ha Neul Bintangi Drama Trees Die On Their Feet

JAKARTA - Actor Kang Ha Neul is confirmed to have chosen Trees Die on Their Feet as his latest drama. Kang Ha Neul will be taking on the role of Yoo Jae Heon, someone who is optimistic despite growing up in difficult situations. He worked as a theater actor in an unpopular local theater company.

Trees Die on Their Feet tells of a grandmother from North Korea who doesn't have much time left. One day, the grandmother asked a man to be her granddaughter to fulfill her last wish.

Kang Ha Neul's character Yoo Jae Heon faces conflict when a grandmother asks him to be her granddaughter and it changes her life.

It is known that Youn Yuh Jung and Son Ye Jin received an offer to accept this drama. Youn Yuh Jung is said to be playing Ja Geum Soon, a woman born in 1930 from North Korea, while Son Ye Jin is playing Se Yeon, the granddaughter of Ja Geum Soon who runs the Nakwon Hotel.

Neither Youn Yuh Jung nor Son Ye Jin have announced whether they will be taking up the drama.

Kang Ha Neul last acted through When the Camellia Blooms in 2019. After that, he chose many film projects such as Waiting for Rain, Year End Medley and The Pirates 2.

The 31-year-old actor chose Trees Die on Their Feet, which was directed by Yoon Sang Ho and Jo Sung Geol. The two names have worked with Kang Ha Neul so that they will reunite through this drama project.

Production on Trees Die on Their Feet will begin once all the cast apart from Kang Ha Neul have been announced.
