JAKARTA - Ingrid Kansil is a talent who has a career in various entertainments. Those who like watching television are certainly no stranger to Ingrid, who has starred in dozens of soap operas. It is different for those who like politics, of course they see Ingrid as a member of the legislature.

After becoming a member of the DPR-RI, Ingrid has increasingly explored various scopes of work, including entrepreneurship and acting. In the midst of her busy schedule, Ingrid still prioritizes empowering women as her focus.

“My passion is where I feel that I can actualize myself which God has given me into a work. I think that's something we should be grateful for, so when we have talent and we have the ingredients, it's something extraordinary," said Ingrid Kansil.

“On the other hand, I was still given the means to continue my struggle in the DPR regarding women's empowerment. I am grateful for what I am living now in accordance with the vision and mission. I can still do art but I do activities that have been my concern all this time,” he said.

IPEMI started when Ingrid Kansil held recitations at home. At that time, he saw that every time the recitation was finished, the mothers who were present began to offer their merchandise. He sees this can be developed as an economic activity that benefits the mothers.

"So far I have been involved in politics, not society, but because I saw the concentration on women's empowerment, I started to get interested, but I still discussed it with my husband," said Ingrid Kansil.

Finally in 2015, Ingrid Kansil was appointed as the General Chair of IPEMI and began to take care of the organization's activities. He feels proud because IPEMI continues to grow with members spread across 17 countries and 360 cities and regencies in Indonesia.

"The movement is extraordinary because this woman has a lot of potential, especially to advance a country, especially in developing the economy, right now, it is precisely what stimulates women at the MSME level. I think there will be an impact from the pandemic, but I can see that they can still survive to sell and help the economy," he said.

This My Love My Enemy player does not deny that the pandemic has had an impact on his activities. He also saw that the business activities created at IPEMI had also decreased due to the lack of digital education, especially for mothers in rural areas.

Ingrid did not remain silent. He continues to hold training in the midst of the pandemic so that mothers can be digitally literate and start a business practically.

"In my opinion, women's empowerment is one of them related to how we can take the glory of ourselves as women and the trust of the community," said the wife of Syarief Hasan.

He saw today many women who lack confidence in doing anything. They are afraid of feeling lost or internally opposed. For this, Ingrid always encourages women to lead themselves for a better life.

“What I met when discussing with friends at the central and regional levels - many women lacked confidence when they wanted to run a business. Women have a sense of anxiety, fear of loss and continue to think about where their capital will come from, so one of the functions of IPEMI must play a role in raising women's self-confidence, "he said.

Legislature and soap operas

Ingrid admits that her experience as a member of the DPR has opened her eyes to many problems for women, especially those who live far from the capital city. Therefore, he did not refuse if he was later appointed to run as a member of the legislature.

“There are more opportunities in the problems that exist in society, so I can tell you that because we are participating in the legislative and executive elections, we have to go down the socialization. I live it sincerely, even though the end result is not what I wanted, but I find satisfaction communicating with the community,” said the woman who was born on November 9th.

Likewise with the world of acting which he has been engaged in since 1995. He always feels nostalgic for the atmosphere of shooting and soap operas as a place to show acting.

"Shooting can't be left behind, it's been ingrained from the past and is still given the trust to play. Yes, the world of acting, as I said, is one of my passions, so when I was stuck, I couldn't work in acting because I was mandated to work in the legislature for a period of 5 years, I really had to concentrate as a member of the DPR," he said.

Fulfilling her longing, now Ingrid Kansil is preparing to star in the second season of My Love My Enemy which will air this year.

None of this would be possible without the support of her husband, Syarief Hasan. Ingrid admits that she always involves her husband in making decisions, especially regarding acting or organizational activities.

“Family is in my opinion a very important thing in a very important life. In my opinion, a woman can be said to be successful when she is able to balance the condition she is working outside with in her domestic area,” he said.

She wants her husband and child to know what she is doing or not she will feel burdened. This is also a form of domestic cooperation that Ingrid and Syarief have been living since 1999.

"Because my best partner so far to get input first from my mother's second husband, so whatever in the entertainment world, organizations, entering the political realm, we can't go alone but input from other people," said Ingrid Kansil.

Ingrid Kansil has a message for women to always pray to get permission from God and their families to carry out activities. All of this was done for the sake of a balanced life that he had experienced for himself.

"Indonesian women may continue to try to explore the potential that exists within themselves and implement it into a positive activity for many people," concluded Ingrid Kansil.
