Rano Karno's Praise For Maudy Koesnaedi Who Successfully Released Zaenab In The Colorless Rainbow Film

JAKARTA - Rano Karno for Maudy Koesnaedi became husband and wife again in the film Rainbow Without Color. In this film they become Fedi and Kirana, no longer Doel and Zaenab.

As Kirana, Maudy has a tough task to show someone who has Alzheimer's disease. According to Rano, Maudy is able to show the quality of her acting when she has to keep all emotions in her heart.

"Kirana must be played with mature players because this character is heavy. This is a story about a family, father and mother of one child. Moreover, this is more difficult because the one playing Maudy, Alzheimer's is just a premise, but this is about family integrity, which is much more important," said Rano Karno at a press conference in the Duren Tiga area, South Jakarta, Thursday, January 27.

Rano Karno added that in this film, both of them made sure to release the characters Zaenab and Doel in the film Si Doel. Maudy Koesnaedi, he continued, had completely left Zaenab because he looked different in the film Losmen Bu Broto.

"Actually, Maudy has tried to let go of Zaenab's image with Bu Broto, by wearing a kebaya every day, wearing a bun every day, I watch it. That means it was a good effort,” said Rano Karno.

Likewise, Rano Karno also made sure to remove the Doel character attached to him by cutting his hair. "Here Rano has become Fedi, an upper-middle class entrepreneur. There is no longer Betawi language. Obviously, he is no longer Doel," he said.

While joking with Muady, Rano is grateful that there is no Mandra in the Rainbow Without Color film. "Fortunately there is no Mandra, if there is chaos. This is our first film outside of Si Doel," said Rano Karno. Apart from Maudy Koesnadi and Rano Karno, this film also stars Zayyan Sakha, Ratna Riantiarno, and Wiwi S.

Rainbow Without Color is a production of Falcon Pictures directed by Indra Gunawan. This film itself tells the story of Fedi (Rano Karno), whose beautiful marriage plan is ruined because his wife has Alzheimer's disease. From day to day, Kirana (Maudy Koesnaedi) keeps forgetting all the simple to the most important things in her life.

The situation turned so full of emotion that it seemed as if the calm in the house disappeared, then replaced with endless sadness. Fedi continues to be tested with Kirana's condition which is getting worse day by day. The household duties that were originally held by the wife, are now fully charged to her. Can Fedi survive or even choose to give up?
