JAKARTA - The happy news was shared by Aprilio Perkasa Manganang via uploads on his Instagram. Aprilio Manganang announces that he is engaged to Claudia. This engagement took place a year after Aprilio became a man.

Aprilio Perkasa Manganang is a former national women's volleyball player. She was born with an identity as a woman. In February 2021, Aprilia changed her identity to a full man thanks to medical assistance from the TNI.

Since March 19, the Tondano District Court has granted a request to change the name of Second Sergeant (Serda) Aprilia Santini Manganang to Aprilio Perkasa Manganang. 28 years being a man in a woman's body because of hypospadias is certainly not an easy thing.

Hypospadias is a congenital disorder in which the urethral opening is closer to the body than it should be. Quoting from the Duta Wacana Medical Scientific Periodic Journal, this disorder occurs since the embryonic period and is influenced by several factors.

One of the factors that influence hypospadias is exposure to estrogen or anti-androgen substances during pregnancy. This is what makes his parents believe that Aprilia is a woman.

Former Indonesian women's volleyball player, Aprilio Perkasa Manganang is officially engaged to his girlfriend on Saturday, January 22. In the photo upload, Aprilio and his girlfriend, Claudia, both use a pair of brown batik.
