JAKARTA - Two fans are suing the production house Universal Pictures for removing actress Ana de Armas from the film Yesterday.
Conor Woulfe and Peter Michael Rosza are fans who want to see director Danny Boyle's 2019 film Yesterday. They paid $3 to rent the film via Amazon Prime.
Both were disappointed. The appearance of Ana de Armas that they see in the trailer is not seen throughout the film. They also sued Universal for a deceptive marketing strategy and demanded $5 in damages.
"Because consumers were promised a film with Ana de Armas from the Yesterday trailer, but no Ana de Armas appearance at all, consumers did not receive any value for their purchase," the lawsuit reads, according to Variety.
Conor and Peter recruited Cody R. Lejeune as attorney for the lawsuit and look forward to Universal's response. The production house reportedly declined to comment on the lawsuit.
