JAKARTA - Matter Halo released their second album entitled Nightvision on Thursday, August 27th. Longing for Matter Halo listening to music they liked from the 60s to the 2000s was their first idea in initiating this album.

The duo Ibnu Dian and Ganidra Rai began discussing themselves and the social issues around them. It took 2 years to complete the entire process of making Nightvision until the materials are mature.

"Before we started the production of our second album, Nightvision, we got to the point where we kind of missed the musical experience we really listened to when we were young," said Ibnu, vocalist of Matter Halo through a press release that VOI received.

But it is satisfactory because they explore all the genres they like. Just listen, Runway Lights, which is the opening track, will remind us of an indie band from the 2000s.

Or try listening to the Minang touch that blends with the pop genre on the track In The Room which contains the voice of Elly Kasim, a singer who often renders Minang songs. This album will remind listeners of the pop genre that dominated during the 2000s.

All tracks in the Nightvision album seemed to stand with their own concept. It is a pleasant experience to discover new exploration of Matter Halo on its release.

Reuben Wu of the Ladytron group took part by creating special artwork for the album Nightvision. Meanwhile, there is also Greg Calbi, mastering engineering who previously worked on the music of Tame Impala, Bon Iver, and John Mayer.

As a result, Nightvision is a new step for Matter Halo to be better known in the international market amidst the current busy competition for local musicians.

Celebrating the release of the Nightvision album, Matter Halo presented a Red Light music video which is the title track of this album.

The Nightvision album from Matter Halo can be heard on all digital music services. Watch the Red Light music video from Matter Halo below:
