DJ Ashba: I Played The Entire Rhythm Guitar On Motley Crue's Saint Of Los Angeles Album

JAKARTA - Former Guns N' Roses guitarist DJ Ashba revealed that he plays all the rhythm guitar fillings on Motley Crue's Saints Of Los Angeles album.

The 49-year-old musician and producer, who is credited as songwriter - except for two of the 13 Saints Of Los Angeles songs - discussed the extent of his involvement in the album.

During his appearance on SiriusXM's "Trunk Nation With Eddie Trunk" earlier this week, host Eddie Trunk asked Ashba about which famous musicians involved himself in recording works he might do as a "ghost" musician.

"Motley," Ashba said of Saints Of Los Angeles before adding "I played all the rhythm guitar stuff in it. But Mick (Mars, Motley Crue guitarist) was amazing. Mick was actually in the hospital at the time."

Yes, for years, Mars has openly discussed his battle with ankylosing spondylitis, a type of chronic, painful arthritis that causes his spine to fuse.

However, he has always said that the condition never prevented him from touring with Motley Crue.

Saints Of Los Angeles is Motley Crue's first studio album since New Tattoo (2000). The album sold 99,000 copies in the United States during its first week of release and debuted at No. 4 on the Billboard 200 chart.

Saints Of Los Angeles is based on Motley Crue's memoir, The Dirt, published in 2001.
