Public Protest, Snowdrop Still Airing 3 New Episodes This Week

JAKARTA - The controversy over the drama Snowdrop continues. The petition that appears in the Blue House continues to be signed by the public every day but the JTBC television channel has other ways.

To resolve the misunderstanding, JTBC will broadcast three new episodes of Snowdrop, namely episodes 3, 4, and 5 on December 24 to 26. This action is taken so that the public knows the development of the drama story.

“All narratives cannot be released at the same time so misunderstandings started to emerge from the very beginning of the making process. JTBC decided to release the episode so that viewers understand," said the JTBC party on Thursday, December 23.

In episodes 3 to 5 Snowdrop will feature the story of the character Soo Ho (Jung Hae In), a North Korean spy who moves to South Korea due to a condition.

"In this drama, it turns out that National Security is an organization that brings spies to South Korea and the leaders of North and South Korea will deal with power and money," JTBC explained, citing SportsDongA.

"In addition, this episode will contain stories of young people caught up in their covert operations," said JTBC.

Previously, the airing of the first two episodes of Snowdrop received criticism from the public. They think this drama distorts Korean history in the dark 1987 and glorifies spying.

JTBC confirmed Snowdrop is a romance drama that tells of Young Ro (Jisoo BLACKPINK) who helps Soo Ho hide in the girls' dorm. They began to fall in love along with various conflicts that approached Soo Ho.

The rights to this drama were purchased by Disney and aired on Disney+. It is not yet known what the next steps will be after Snowdrop is asked to stop broadcasting.
