Aruna And This Is The Story Of Tiga Dara Shown At The CROSSCUT ASIA Film Festival

JAKARTA - The film Aruna and Her Lidahnya from director Edwin and This Story of Tiga Dara by director Nia Dinata is part of the list of films being screened at the online film festival CROSSCUT ASIA. The program is a collaboration between the Japan International Film Festival (TIFF) and the Japan Foundation Asia Center, presenting works by Asian filmmakers.

A total of 13 films can be watched for free from January 21 to February 3, 2022. This special edition of CROSSCUT ASIA themed "delicious" features seven from Asia with the theme of food, including "Aruna and her Tongue" from Edwin who just won the Golden Leopard at the Film Festival. There's also "Wanton Mee" by Singaporean director Eric Khoo, who often plays around at film festivals, "Namets! (Yummy!)" by Jay Abello, which showcases beautiful cuisine from the island of Negros in the Philippines.

Quoted from ANTARA, another program from CROSSCUT ASIA has the theme "Encore!" presents a number of selected films that previously attracted attention when they were shown on the CROSSCUT ASIA program during TIFF.

In this program, viewers can see the work "This is the Story of Tiga Dara" by Nia Dinata who has just made "A World Without" on Netflix. This musical film is inspired by "Three Dara" which was released in 1956, packed with a touch of the present.

Besides Nia Dinata's film, there is also Pete Teo Special, a series of video clips and short film omnibuses from 15 Malaysian directors.

The festival also features talks and interviews with film directors related to food. Festival registration opens from 18 January 2022.
