Lady Gaga Cancels Concert Due to Respiratory Infection, Here are the Symptoms and Treatment

JAKARTA - Lady Gaga had to cancel her concert in Montreal after being diagnosed with a worsening respiratory infection. With his deteriorating condition, doctors advised Gaga to rest completely.

"My doctors strongly advised that I not perform today. I'm really heartbroken," Lady Gaga said, quoted by USA Today, on Thursday, April 9, 2026.

Gaga herself had previously performed in two concerts in Montreal, before her condition worsened and forced her to stop touring temporarily.

Regarding respiratory tract infections are diseases that attack parts of the body, which play a role in the breathing process, such as the nose, throat, and lungs.

The infection can be caused by viruses, bacteria, or in certain cases by fungi. However, most cases are caused by viruses, such as the flu or a cold, and usually can heal on their own.

There are two types of respiratory infections, namely upper and lower respiratory tract infections, with different degrees of severity. The symptoms of respiratory tract infections are often similar to the common flu, as follows.

- Sore throat- Stuffy or runny nose- Cough- Fever- Muscle pain- Fatigue- Headache- Shortness of breath or chest tightness

In some cases, symptoms can appear suddenly and worsen in a short time. Conditions can worsen if the body does not get time to recover properly.

Heavy activities, such as Lady Gaga's concert with a busy schedule, can aggravate the body's condition which is fighting an infection. Therefore, in overcoming respiratory tract infections, it is very important for the body to rest so that the immune system can work optimally.

"If possible, it's best to stay at home so that the immune system can recover," said Dr. Tina Ardon.

Meanwhile, to deal with the symptoms of respiratory tract infections at home there are several ways that can be done.

Starting from drinking plenty of water to prevent dehydration, getting enough rest, consuming warm drinks such as tea or lemon water with honey, use pain or cough relievers if needed, to use a humidifier to help breathing.
