BKKBN Promotes Anti-Bullying Awareness in Gen Z with a Modern Approach

JAKARTA - The Ministry of Population and Family Development (Kemendubangga/BKKBN) sees the phenomenon of bullying or bullying among Generation Z or Gen Z as a serious concern. Especially with the increasing social pressure and mental challenges in the digital era,

Based on the Journal of Affective Disorders in 2025, globally bullying (physical, verbal, cyber) causes anxiety, depression, and suicidal ideation. One in four children experience it with long-term effects on self-confidence.

Responding to this condition, BKKBN held Gen Z Fest: The Next Wave of Digital Natives, at the office of the Ministry of Education and Culture/BKKBN, Jakarta, Thursday, December 18, 2025. This event is an effort to encourage collective solidarity and the active role of the younger generation in preventing bullying, as well as strengthening family resilience.

"This bullying is serious. We can see the atmosphere of spirituality that is bullied and bullied. The bully is in the quotation marks of the problematic part," said the Minister of Finance/Head of BKKBN, Dr. Wihaji, S.Ag, M.Pd, in his remarks.

Wihaji emphasized that it was the duty of the state and government to ensure that bullying-related matters must be properly combated for the future of the younger generation.

"The task of the state, the task of the government is to ensure that things related to bullying, whatever the reason, whatever the reason, we must fight," he continued.

Gen Z Fest is designed as a national dialogue space that combines elements of education, entertainment, and active participation of Gen Z. This activity presents interactive talkshow with Minister Wihaji, music performances, as well as the involvement of influencers and content creators to campaign for mental health values, anti-bullying, and strengthening the role of the family.

This event is a contemporary approach that is expected to be able to build emotional closeness between the government and Gen Z. It is hoped that it will foster collective awareness, as well as encourage young people to play a role as agents of change in the development of families and society in the future.
