JAKARTA - Unlike Indonesia, the Free Nutrition Food menu in Singapore is only milk. This fact was revealed by Singapore's Minister of Defense (Menhan) Chan Chun Sing while visiting the Special Nutrition Fulfillment Service Unit (SPPG) for North Jakarta Koja on Wednesday, August 6.

"In our country there is also a similar program, but the menu is different, only milk is given," he said as quoted by ANTARA.

During the visit, the Minister of Defense of Singapore was accompanied by the Main Secretary of BGN Brigadier General Purnawirawan Sarwono and the Pangdam Jaya Major General TNI Deddy Suryadi.

Prior to conducting a review of the SPPG, the Defense Minister of Singapore received an explanation regarding the MBG which was delivered directly by the Head of the SPPG Koja.

In his presentation, Rena as the Head of SPPG said that SPPG Koja served 3,009 beneficiaries consisting of kindergarten, elementary, junior high, high school, pregnant women, and breastfeeding mothers spread across the Koja area, North Jakarta.

The Defense Minister of Singapore also asked questions related to the menu given to beneficiaries in Indonesia.

"Is the menu for high school students the same as the menu for elementary, kindergarten, or junior high school students?" he said.

The Main Secretary of BGN explained that each beneficiary gets a portion of the Nutrition Needs Number (AKG) according to their needs.

"High school students must be different and the budget is also adjusted because the menu and food portions are certainly different," said Sarwono.

After receiving the presentation, the Defense Minister of Singapore continued his activities by visiting the SPPG kitchen and seeing the ongoing cooking process. The visit was continued by reviewing the distribution of MBG packages at SDN Rawa Badak Utara 01, North Jakarta.

Sarwono expressed his appreciation for Chan Chun Sing's visit. He hopes that this can be a good start to open up opportunities for cooperation and comparative studies as an effort to improve the quality of the MBG program.
