JAKARTA - Children's health is no less important than their academic value. Through the School's Free Health Check Program (CKG), the government seeks to instill awareness of the importance of health checks from an early age, not waiting for adults or falling ill.
This program is a strategic step to ensure that every Indonesian student has equal access to basic health services, as well as as the foundation for creating a superior generation in the future.
The Minister of Communication and Digital Affairs (Menkomdigi), Meutya Hafid, said that the CKG of Schools can be a reminder for parents to be more active in monitoring the health condition of their children.
"We sometimes misunderstand, health checks are carried out when we are mature, even though the most important thing is to prevent it from an early age," he said after directly reviewing the implementation of the CKG School program at the Penaburan Catholic Junior High School, Gading Serpong, Tangerang Regency, as quoted by ANTARA.
During the visit, Meutya witnessed firsthand the various types of examinations that students underwent, ranging from blood pressure measurements, weight and height, to eye health, teeth, and physical strength. He also noted the enthusiasm of students who were happy to be able to undergo a health check, which for some of them had not been done for a long time.

"The children are all excited and happy. Many have told me that they haven't checked their health for a long time, so they are quite enthusiastic about this activity," he added.
The School CKG Program is part of the Fast Best Result Program (PHTC) initiated by President Prabowo Subianto, with a target of reaching up to 53 million students from Sabang to Merauke. The goal is to ensure that no students are left behind in accessing health services, an inclusive principle that becomes the foundation for the development of Indonesian human resources towards the vision of the 2045 Golden Generation.
"The target is 53 million students, from Sabang to Merauke. No one should be left behind, no student left behind," said Meutya.
The Ministry of Communication and Industry also plays a role in supporting digital infrastructure and communication to support the smooth running of this program, especially in managing student data nationally. Meutya emphasized the importance of a fast internet connection and an integrated data collection system so that the implementation of this large-scale program runs effectively.
"We are here by accelerating the connection so that student data can be uploaded smoothly. This is important because the data is large and must be connected to the national system," he explained.
The inaugural implementation of the School CKG program takes place simultaneously in 12 schools and madrasas in various regions on Monday, August 4, 2025. This program is expected to be the starting point for the transformation of educational-based health services, where students are not only studying in classrooms, but also invited to get to know and maintain their health from an early age.
