JAKARTA - The Ministry of Population and Family Development/BKKBN (Kemendukbang bangga/BKKBN) emphasized the importance of disseminating the results of strategic studies as part of efforts to strengthen family development policies and control population.
This was conveyed by the Deputy Minister of Population and Family Development/Deputy Head of BKKBN, Isyana Bagoes Oka at the opening of the 2025 Series-2 Reka Review Meeting.
"We have an important task to disseminate policies and study results that have been carried out by the Deputy for Strategic Policy. There are so many results of studies that have been published in journals, but if they are not submitted to the wider community, the benefits will not be maximized," said Isyana, when met at the Kemendukbangga/BKKBN office, East Jakarta on Monday, July 14.
According to him, the main assets of the ministry are not only policies, but also human resources, state civil servants (ASN) and researchers involved in formulating and reviewing various strategic issues. These studies need to be opened to the public so that they become the basis for decision making at the individual and family level.
During the meeting, a number of strategic topics were in the spotlight. The three main issues discussed include early breastfeeding initiation (IMD), stunting in Eastern Indonesia, as well as the availability of contraceptives (alcon) tools and drugs for fertile age couples.
"IMD is very important because it affects successful breastfeeding and stunting prevention. The first out colostrum contains immune substances that are urgently needed by the baby," said Isyana.

Regarding stunting, Isyana said that nationally the prevalence rate has shown a decline, from 21.5% in 2023 to 19.8% in 2024. The hope is that with the current government's free nutritious food program, this figure can continue to decline, especially in Eastern Indonesia, which is still the focus of intervention.
Isyana also mentioned the collaboration between ministries in facing other public health challenges, including HIV/AIDS. He stated that HIV issues, especially those targeting housewives, require close coordination with the Ministry of Health.
"We are ready to collaborate. BKKBN has a network of field personnel, such as Family Planning Extension (PKB), PLKB, and KB cadres spread throughout Indonesia. Our role is in counseling and assistance, while the treatment policy remains with the Ministry of Health," he explained.
He also emphasized that according to President Prabowo Subianto's direction, all ministries must work together to achieve the great goal of national development, including improving the quality of human resources towards Indonesia Gold 2045.
This activity is part of the routine agenda of the Deputy for Strategy Policy for BKKBN which aims to explain the results of scientific studies to the public and stakeholders. The authors in this forum come from the ASN Ministry and present the supervisors from across professions.
The topics discussed in this forum are not only academic, but also applicative in solving real challenges faced by Indonesian families, especially in handling stunting.
