3 Sexual Problems That Gen Z Often Experiences

JAKARTA - Generation Z or Gen Z is experiencing several problems in their sexual life.

According to a 2021 Kinsey Institute and Lovehoney survey, one of Gen Z's four adults in the United States says they have never had sex with a partner.

However, that doesn't mean they don't have any sexual experience at all. This is because many of them express sexual experiences in different ways.

So, when young adults say they don't have sex, this doesn't mean that they have no sexual experience. On the other hand, many of them seem to express their sexuality in a different way, and the more it is through an internet connection, said sex researcher Justin Lehmiller, quoted by Huffpost, on Friday, November 21, 2025.

However, according to the therapists who treat sexually related gene Z patients, they apparently have some problems in that regard. The problem is as follows.

1. Difficult to communicate boundaries and desires with your partner

Although young people tend to adhere to values such as approval, body autonomy, and pleasure, New York City therapist Keanu Jackson says he sees a number of Gen Z clients continue to have difficulty expressing their boundaries and desires in relationships.

"This mainly happens when there are clear differences in strength in relationships and controlling behavior," Jackson said.

2. Easy access to sexual content

Easy access to sexual content on the internet also provides problems in the current sex life of Gen Z. This can form perceptions and sexual behavior at risk due to the absence of adequate mental assistance and readiness.

3. Limited access to reproductive health services

Limited access to reproductive health services is also a problem for gen Z. This lack of access makes it difficult for teenagers to make decisions that are safe and responsible for their health.

This makes many Z genes make wrong decisions in their sexual activities. This can affect their lives in the future, such as the possibility of sexually transmitted infections (IMS) that are not resolved properly.
