JAKARTA - Access to equitable health services is still a challenge in various regions in Indonesia. Not only in terms of facilities, but also the readiness of the system, supporting personnel, to cross-sectoral collaboration to ensure that the community, including vulnerable groups, can obtain safe and adequate services.

In this context, the role of various parties, including the private sector and international organizations, is becoming increasingly important in expanding the reach and quality of health services.

In the midst of these efforts, Takeda Innovative Medicines has again been recognized in the PR INDONESIA Awards 2026 by winning two Silver awards in the "Public Affairs: Stakeholder Management" and "Public Relations: Community-Based Development" categories.

This achievement continues the company's track record of receiving similar awards for three consecutive years. One of the awards was given for efforts to build collaboration with various stakeholders, from the government to professional organizations, in supporting various public health initiatives.

Meanwhile, other awards are related to a community-based program entitled Women at the Center (WAC) or Indonesian Women Living Without Violence (PIHAK). This program is an initiative of corporate social responsibility carried out together with the United Nations Population Fund (UNFPA).

The program focuses on strengthening access to health services for survivors of violence against women and girls, including through capacity building for service providers and cross-sectoral cooperation.

"We are grateful for the award that was given again this year. For us, this award is not only an appreciation for the communication program, but also an acknowledgment of the importance of building strong and sustainable partnerships to support health priorities in Indonesia," said Head of Public Affairs and Communications Takeda, Revi Renita.

PR INDONESIA CEO, Asmono Wikan, added that the number of participation in this event continues to increase, reflecting the development of strategic communication practices in various sectors.

"The award received by Takeda this year reflects a communication approach that is not only strong in terms of strategy, but also able to show real impact," he said.

From the perspective of partners, the Head of the UNFPA Representative Office in Indonesia, Hassan Mohtashami, assessed that collaboration was the key to strengthening the protection system for vulnerable groups.

"The PIHAK program is a tangible proof of our joint commitment to strengthening the protection system and improving access to services for survivors of violence against women and girls in Indonesia," he said.

The WAC/PIHAK program itself is part of Takeda's global initiative focused on strengthening the health system. In Indonesia, this program has been running since 2023 and involves various parties, ranging from ministries, civil society organizations, to local communities in a number of regions.

Various efforts such as this are expected to help expand access to inclusive health services, as well as strengthen a system that is more responsive to community needs.
