JAKARTA - The Indonesian Food and Drug Supervisory Agency (BPOM) is again conducting cyber patrols to crack down on the circulation of illegal or unsafe drugs and cosmetics sold online in various marketplaces.

This effort was carried out in collaboration with a number of parties, including the Ministry of Communication and Digital Affairs and the Indonesian E-Commerce Association (IDEA).

During the period January to June 2025, BPOM recorded thousands of accounts and cosmetic products circulating on online platforms. Thousands of sales links have been taken down by the Ministry of Communication and Digital and IdEA.

In an official upload on Instagram BPOM RI on November 26, 2025, this institution detailed the five illegal cosmetic products that were most widely circulated in the marketplace.

BPOM emphasized that thousands of illegal cosmetic accounts and products found in the marketplace have been deleted in collaboration with related parties.

The public is advised not to buy these products in online stores and immediately report them through the BPOM Mobile application if they still find them in the marketplace. This step is also part of BPOM's efforts to increase consumer awareness to be more selective in buying cosmetic products online.
