PMI Affirms Blood Donors Don't Cancel Fasting, Can Healthy Bodies And Make Young Awets

JAKARTA - The Red Cross of Indonesia, Central Jakarta City, has opened a blood donation service in the Taman Ismail Marzuki area, Menteng, Central Jakarta.

This activity is carried out to ensure that blood stocks during the fasting month remain available.

Not only donors, this activity also provides education about the benefits of blood donation.

The chairman of PMI Central Jakarta, Asep Djuanda, said that previously the public considered that donating blood in the month of Ramadan could cancel fasting.

However, after a fatwa from the Indonesian Ulema Council (MUI) that blood donation does not invalidate fasting, the enthusiasm of residents increases to donate blood.

"Blood donation service activities have reached 2,000 bags of blood," said Asep when confirmed, Sunday, March 23.

He thanked the Deputy Mayor of Central Jakarta PLT for the success of this blood donation service. Not only that, donors also receive basic necessities.

Meanwhile, the Acting Deputy Mayor of Central Jakarta Iqbal Akbarudin appreciated the activity that could be said to pick up the ball.

Because the community does not have to go to the PMI office in Pecenongan, but in the Taman Ismail Marzuki area.

"This is a positive breakthrough, where residents who want to be creative can donate their blood," he said.

He also ensures that blood donation is a healthy activity and makes you youthful.

"Blood donation is a social activity, and must continue to be socialized to the public so that they want to participate in social activities, from the community to the community," he said.
