AirAsia Indonesia Brings Bad News, This Airline Stops Flights Until 30 September

JAKARTA - AirAsia Indonesia announced that the temporary suspension of its scheduled flight services was extended to 30 September 2021. This decision was issued due to considering the spread of COVID-19 in the country.

Furthermore, AirAsia's decision to stop scheduled flights is also in line with the government's efforts to break the chain of the spread of COVID-19 in the country by implementing community activity restrictions (PPKM).

"The temporary suspension of scheduled flight services has been extended until September 30, 2021, in order to support the Indonesian government's efforts to control the COVID-19 situation in the country, which is still volatile," said Air Asia Indonesia Management in a written statement, Friday, September 3.

AirAsia also ensures that it will continue to serve regular, charter and cargo flights for repatriation, freight forwarding and other essential needs. Management said that this flight was also ensured by the implementation of strict health and safety protocols.

"AirAsia will continue to evaluate the development of the situation and is ready to re-open its scheduled flight services at any time," Air Asia management wrote.

AirAsia urges prospective passengers on scheduled flights that coincide with the termination period, to convert their ticket purchases into a credit account that is valid for up to 730 days or 2 years for the next ticket purchase.

Not only that, prospective passengers can also choose to change their ticket to another flight schedule until November 30, 2021.

AirAsia also provides alternative refunds for prospective passengers who wish to cancel flights. Later, the refund will be evaluated in accordance with the provisions.

"Refund requests will be evaluated in accordance with the provisions. Changes and submissions can be made via AVA on airasia.com or support.airasia.com," AirAsia added.
