JAKARTA - The Ministry of Public Works (PU) is building the Governor's Office, the Regional Representative Council (DPRD) and the Papua People's Assembly (MRP) of Central Papua Province in Nabire Regency.
The project has a contract value of IDR 355.36 billion sourced from the State Budget (APBN).
Construction began on October 20, 2025 with the implementing contractor PT Pembangunan Perumahan - PT Abdi Bumi Cendrawasih (KSO).
The progress of construction as of August 9, 2026 has reached 36.90 percent. All physical buildings are targeted to be completed by December 2026.
Minister PU Dody Hanggodo said that the development of government infrastructure is needed so that regional institutions can carry out government functions and services to the community.

Apart from the three buildings, the PU Ministry is also working on the arrangement of the central government area of the Central Papua New Autonomous Region (DOB).
The work includes the construction of the area gate, the Whale Shark Gate, the Cenderawasih City Park, green open spaces, squares, supporting right of way (ROW) infrastructure, supporting buildings, fire facilities, as well as plumbing and electrical work.
The arrangement of the area began in December 2025 and is targeted to be completed in December 2026.
The progress of the work to date has reached 25.34 percent.
A number of works that are being carried out include the filling of existing channels, casting of box culverts, construction of foundations and structures of Fire Prevention Posts as well as sand cone testing.
The central government area of Central Papua DOB is about 15.5 kilometers from Douw Aturure Airport.
The travel time to the location is around 30 minutes using a four-wheeled vehicle.
From the center of Nabire Regency, the area is about 28.5 kilometers away with a travel time of about 60 minutes.
The development of the central government area is part of the infrastructure development for the implementation of the Central Papua Provincial Government as DOB.
