The procurement of Kopdes Fans is said to be Trillion, Purbaya Claims Not to Know

JAKARTA - Finance Minister Purbaya Yudhi Sadewa admitted that he did not know the news about the budget for the procurement of fans for the Red and White Village Cooperative which was said to have reached trillions of rupiah.

Purbaya said he would check the information that was widely discussed. He emphasized that the Ministry of Finance did not directly manage the activities and procurement of cooperatives.

"I don't know, I'll check later," said Purbaya at the Presidential Palace, Jakarta, Thursday, July 23. According to Purbaya, the management of the Red and White Village Cooperative is under the responsibility of PT Agrinas Pangan Nusantara. The government through the Ministry of Finance only handles the payment of installments of debt to banks.

"The responsibility of the cooperative is the Agrinas. We only pay the installments. Management and all sorts of things there," he said.

Purbaya explained that the installment in question was not a special payment for the procurement of fans.

"No. The debt is paid to the bank every year," he said.

Purbaya came to the Palace to attend a limited meeting with President Prabowo Subianto. He suspected that the discussion would be related to the Red and White Village Cooperative, but did not know the agenda in detail.

He also could not confirm the source of the budget of the University of the Republic of Indonesia or URI.

According to Purbaya, the funding of URI is likely related to the budget of the Ministry of Higher Education, Science, and Technology. However, he still needs to check it.

When asked whether all the URI costs would come from the state budget, Purbaya has not given certainty.

"Later we will see," he said.
