JAKARTA - The OKX digital asset exchange is expanding its product line through the launch of Unified Tokenized Stocks, a service that allows investors to gain exposure to more than 40 US stocks and exchange traded funds (ETFs) in the form of tokens.

Products that will start trading on July 15-16, 2026 are available to eligible users in Southeast Asia, Northeast Asia, the Commonwealth of Independent States (CIS) region, the Middle East and North Africa (MENA), and Turkey.

The service is not yet accessible in the United States or the European Union.

Through the product, investors can trade large-cap stocks such as Apple, Nvidia, Tesla, Microsoft, Alphabet, Amazon, and Meta, as well as the S&P 500 ETF and Invesco QQQ using the USDT pair in the same account as trading crypto assets.

OKX claims that Unified Tokenized Stocks presents a different approach through the implementation of a single order book for each tokenized stock.

This scheme consolidates liquidity from various token issuers into one market so that it is expected to increase the efficiency of price formation and market depth.

In the initial phase, the instrument is supported by xStocks issued by Backed Assets, with each token claimed to have underlying asset support in the form of shares fully deposited by the issuer.

However, token ownership does not represent direct ownership of shares.

Investors do not acquire rights as shareholders, including voting rights and rights to corporate actions, but only exposure to changes in the price of the reference asset.

In addition to offering 24-hour trading every day, OKX also integrates tokenized stocks with its digital asset trading ecosystem.

Users can transact using USDT balances without having to open a broker account or convert the currency into US dollars.

The platform also supports automated trading features such as Grid Bot and Dollar Cost Averaging (DCA) Bot.

Meanwhile, the distribution of dividends is carried out through a reinvestment mechanism at the issuer level which is then reflected in the user token balance after taking into account the tax provisions.

The launch of Unified Tokenized Stocks adds to the trend of global financial asset tokenization which in recent years has developed as an effort to expand investor access to capital market instruments through blockchain technology.
