SAUMLAKI - Energy and Mineral Resources Minister (ESDM) Bahlil Lahadalia revealed that 60 percent of the gas production from the Abadi Masela Block Field will be used for domestic consumption.

Meanwhile, the rest will be exported to other countries in need.

"And I think this will be 60 percent of the gas at least to meet domestic needs and 40 percent at most for us to export," said Bahlil in his report on the Groundbreaking of the Masela LNG Project in Tanimbar, Maluku, Thursday, July 16.

Bahlil explained that domestic supplies would be prioritized for several companies such as PT Pupuk Indonesia, PT PGN Tbk., and PT PLN (Persero).

Meanwhile, the rest will be distributed to private companies with the aim of increasing added value and the regional economy.

On the other hand, the gas to be exported will prioritize Japan, which is the country of origin of Inpex.

"Especially Japan, because they are investing. So our priority for the first choice country from Inpex is Japan," said Bahlil.

For information, this project has a production capacity of 9.5 million tons of LNG per year and is supported by CCS technology.

The Abadi field in the Masela Block, Arafura Sea, Maluku Province, which is located about 12 miles from the nearest island. The Masela Block is located about 750 km south of Ambon, the capital of the Maluku province.

Meanwhile, the water depth in the Abadi Field ranges from 400 m to 800 m with the south side of the Masela Block intersecting with the Indonesian-Australian maritime border with the location of the entire Block in Indonesian territory.

Regarding the development plan for the Abadi Field, therefore, the development plan for the Abadi Field will include underwater facilities or subsea, including subsea wellheads, drilling centers, Subsea Umbilicals Risers and Flowlines (SURF), CO2 injection well, and SURF for CCS facilities), Floating Production Storage and Offloading (FPSO) facilities, Gas Export Pipeline (GEP) and CO2 pipeline, and Onshore LNG (OLNG) plant including Onshore CCS facility located on Yamdena Island, Tanimbar Islands Regency (KKT).

The FPSO has 2 gas processing facilities to send dry gas to the OLNG processing facility via GEP, where the OLNG production capacity is around 9.5 MTPA consisting of 2 trains with a capacity of 4.75 MTPA and 150 MMSCFD of gas pipelines for local industrial needs.

CO2 from the Acid Gas Removal Unit (AGRU) of the LNG train is dehydrated and compressed. Then CO2 is sent to the injection well in the Abadi Field through the CCS Pipeline which is installed in parallel with the GEP.
