Basuki ensures that the development of IKN is carried out, aesthetics and quality are still maintained

JAKARTA - The Nusantara Capital Authority (IKN) said that the acceleration of the development of IKN, Indonesia's new capital in parts of North Penajam Paser Regency and Kutai Kartanegara Regency, East Kalimantan Province, still maintains aesthetics and quality.

"Accelerating development still maintains the aesthetics and quality of development results," said Head of the IKN Authority Basuki Hadimuljono as reported by ANTARA, Thursday, July 16.

"Also, continue to prioritize work safety, so that the acceleration of development remains safe and comfortable," he added.

The three pillars of IKN development remain the basis, namely quality, aesthetics, and environmental sustainability by monitoring development progress through monitoring and evaluation forums.

Then also strengthen coordination, he explained, as well as the coordination of the implementation of development financed through the state budget (APBN), private investment, and government cooperation schemes with business entities (KPBU).

Through the APBN managed by the IKN Authority, there are 40 physical work packages, with a breakdown of nine packages completed in 2025, 15 packages in the construction phase and 16 packages in the auction preparation phase.

"The package in the construction phase includes the construction of office buildings, judicial and legislative areas, road networks, ponds, retention ponds, he explained, as well as drinking water piping networks as part of the drinking water management system and the provision of basic urban services at IKN.

The Ministry of Public Works handles 90 physical work packages, with 78 packages completed and 12 packages in the construction process, as well as strategic projects that are underway, including the construction of the IKN toll road, the duplication of the short-span Balang Island Bridge, and a number of other supporting roads.

The Ministry of Housing and Spatial Planning manages 12 development packages, of which 11 packages have been completed and one construction phase package, namely the construction of a multi-apartment for low-income people who have been relocated to support the development of the IKN area.

"The private investment scheme, to date, 67 business actors have signed cooperation agreements (PKS)," he said, of which nine projects have been completed, and six projects are entering the construction phase.

The six projects are the Gunadarma Nusantara University Campus, Abdi Waluyo Hospital, Teras by Plataran, Apartment PT Star Bright International Investment, Mixed Area PT Fajar Maju Karya Gemilang, and Apartment PT Dian Jaya Indonesia.

"Through the KPBU scheme, there are 13 initiative projects, consisting of seven residential sectors, six road sectors, and the construction of 108 unit of stilt houses initiated by PT Intiland Development Tbk and eight apartment towers initiated by PT Nindya Karya," said Basuki Hadimuljono.
