JAKARTA - Minister of Finance (Menkeu) Purbaya Yudhi Sadewa has prepared a scheme to handle the problems of PT Kereta Cepat Indonesia China or KCIC without having to use the State Budget (APBN).

Purbaya said the handling of KCIC had been decided by the President. However, the administrative process of handing over from the Investment Management Agency to the Ministry of Finance is still ongoing.

"Now it's still in Danantara. Later someone will hand it over to me because of the President's order. We are the ones who are in charge. But it doesn't have to use the state budget," said Purbaya at the Presidential Palace Complex, Jakarta, Wednesday, July 15.

He has not explained the form of the scheme to be used. Purbaya only mentioned that the Ministry of Finance has other instruments outside the mechanisms currently available to handle KCIC.

According to the Minister of Finance, a decision regarding the handling of KCIC has been made. The government now only needs to complete administrative matters with Danantara.

"It has been decided. It's just the administrative process that is underway. With Danantara we are done. Later we will report again," he said.

Purbaya also has not confirmed whether KCIC will be designated as a public service agency or BLU. He asked the public to wait until the handover process is completed.

"It hasn't been given to me. If it is given to me, we will only tell you how to solve it," said the Minister of Finance.

When asked again whether the BLU scheme was one of the options, Purbaya did not give certainty.

"Nothing. Anyway, it was given to me, I just did it," he said.
