JAKARTA - Minister of Finance Purbaya Yudhi Sadewa conducted an inspection of the implementation of the State Budget (APBN) in Central Java Province as well as evaluating the implementation of a number of government priority programs, such as the Free Nutritious Meal (MBG) Program, Red and White Village / Village Cooperative (KDMP), and People's School Program.
The review was carried out during a working visit to the State Treasury Service Office (KPPN) Semarang I.
Until Semester I 2026, the implementation of the State Budget in Central Java is assessed to still show solid performance despite facing various economic challenges, namely the realization of state revenues has reached 46.56 percent of the target or grown 13.33 percent year on year (yoy), while state expenditures have been realized at 52.06 percent of the budget ceiling.
Purbaya said the state budget still plays an important role in supporting development and public services in Central Java and this role also supports the province's economic growth of 5.89 percent, supported by industrial sector activities, trade, and various government programs.
"The Ministry of Finance in Central Java continues to encourage various efforts to improve the welfare of the community in the region with economic indicators that still need to be strengthened," said Purbaya in an official statement, quoted Sunday, July 5.
On this occasion, Purbaya gave special attention to the implementation of the Free Nutritious Meal Program, which until mid-2026, the program has reached approximately 9.16 million beneficiaries through 4,635 Nutrition Fulfillment Service Units (SPPG), involving 18,854 local suppliers, and creating more than 193,000 jobs.
To ensure that the implementation runs in accordance with the provisions, the Directorate General of Treasury (DJPb) of the Ministry of Finance provides assistance and monitoring through the DJPb regional offices and KPPN at a number of SPPG in Central Java, including in Klaten, Magelang, and Semarang Regency.
According to Purbaya, the assistance aims to ensure that the implementation of the Free Nutritious Meal Program takes place effectively, accountable, and targeted, as well as identifying various obstacles in the field so that they can be immediately addressed together with stakeholders.
"DJPb to monitor all government priority programs, including monitoring MBG nationally and structured," he said.
In addition to MBG, Purbaya also reviewed the progress of the implementation of the Red and White Village/Neighborhood Cooperative (KDMP) which is projected to be the driving force for village economies, namely, to date, in Central Java, 8,523 village and neighborhood cooperatives have been formed with a total of more than 43,000 transactions.
Purbaya assessed that the existence of KDMP is expected to be able to strengthen the local economy as well as expand public access to various more productive economic services.
In the education sector, Purbaya also evaluated the development of the People's School Program, which is currently running in 16 regencies/cities in Central Java with a total of 16 school locations, 110 study groups, and serving 3,080 students.
He also appreciated the performance of the Ministry of Finance in the regions which continued to monitor the implementation of the State Budget and ensure that various priority government programs run well.
According to him, the success of these programs requires close synergy between the central government, local governments, business actors, and the community.
Purbaya emphasized that the State Budget must continue to be maintained as a healthy, adaptive, and accountable fiscal instrument in supporting the national development agenda.
On the other hand, he conveyed that the optimization of APBD spending also needed to continue to be improved in order to provide a greater impact on regional economic growth and the improvement of people's welfare.
In the management of regional finances, Purbaya also highlighted the efforts of the Central Java DJPb Regional Office to digitize regional revenue.
He added that one of the innovations was the implementation of the e-Parking system at the Sidomakmur Market, Blora Regency, which was used as a pilot project to increase transparency, accountability, and the effectiveness of regional revenue.
