TUBAN - Minister of Energy and Mineral Resources (ESDM) Bahlil Lahadalia inaugurated the PT Sumber Aneka Gas Mini LNG Plant in Tuban, East Java.

In his remarks, Bahlil gave directions to gas suppliers, namely PT Pertamina Hulu Energi Tuban East Java to support the sustainability of this project until the contract is completed in 2035.

"Please support it. Don't let you 2 years keep stuck, you can't. People have invested heavily, so continue to support, hold that contract, don't change the contract so that they have certainty in making investments in the future," said Bahlil in his remarks, Thursday, June 25.

Bahlil added that this facility is expected to increase the utilization of domestic natural gas, strengthen the reliability of energy supply for the industrial and power generation sectors, reduce the use of more expensive and higher-emitting fuels, and increase the competitiveness of the national economy.

For information, the gas supply from the Sumber Field of PT Pertamina Hulu Energi Tuban East Java until 2035 is 15 MMscfd.

Bahlil also ensured that the government was committed to continuing to support the development of strategic projects like this. The presence of the Mini LNG Plant of PT Sumber Aneka Gas is part of a joint effort to strengthen national energy resilience, increase industry competitiveness, and encourage sustainable economic growth.

The Mini LNG Plant of PT Sumber Aneka Gas (SAG) is a gas processing facility that produces multi-energy products in the form of LNG, CNG, LPG, condensate, with a plan for liquid CO2.

Meanwhile, the maximum production capacity of this mini LNG plant is equivalent to 55,300 tons per year with a tank capacity of 1,600. The production capacity for other types such as LPG is 9,800 tons per year, condensate gas 19,600 barrels per year, and CO2 (liquid) 21,000 tons per year.

All commodities from this Mini LNG plant will be absorbed by the industrial, retail, and power generation sectors in Java, Bali, to Sulawesi. Production output and storage infrastructure are designed to support the LNG supply chain based on land transportation.

"Well this is very helpful for the industry in order to provide certainty about raw materials. Now we are in East Java still okay, the price is still okay. In West Java, Banten, Bekasi, Jakarta, there is a correction because our HGBT is declining again, because the lifting there is declining again. We have to use LNG, so the price is indeed a bit higher. Well this is what we have to find a middle ground to encourage it," said Bahlil.
