JAKARTA - Efforts to maintain the sustainability of coastal areas require the collaboration of many parties. Departing from this spirit, PERURI together with six other SOEs participated in the Social and Environmental Responsibility (TJSL) program entitled Blue Impact which was held at Minang Rua Beach, Kelawi Village, South Lampung Regency, on Friday, June 12.
The Blue Impact program is a collaboration between seven State-Owned Enterprises, namely PERURI, PNM, Adhi Karya, Brantas Abipraya, Nindya Karya, Waskita, and WIKA. This collaboration is a tangible step for SOEs in presenting contributions that not only focus on environmental preservation, but also touch aspects of community empowerment and improving the quality of life of coastal residents.
Through this program, PERURI also strengthens the role of SOEs in supporting the sustainability agenda, especially in coastal areas that have ecological and economic value for the community. Blue Impact carries out three main agendas, namely coral reef conservation, financial literacy, and free health checks for the surrounding community.
The three agendas are designed as a single program that represents concern for the environment, strengthening the economic capacity of the community, and supporting the health of the community. With this approach, Blue Impact is expected to provide wider and sustainable benefits for the community around Pantai Minang Rua.
Head of Corporate Secretary PERURI, Adi Sunardi, conveyed that collaboration between SOEs is the key to presenting a TJSL program that is relevant to community needs and has a direct impact on the environment.
"Through the Blue Impact program, PERURI is also present in a joint effort to maintain the coastal ecosystem while supporting improved community welfare. For us, synergy between SOEs like this is a tangible form that social and environmental responsibility needs to be carried out collaboratively, directed, and provide direct benefits to the community," said Adi.
Minang Rua Beach was chosen as the location for the program because it has great potential as a coastal tourist area and is one of the flagship destinations in South Lampung. The existence of a healthy marine ecosystem is an important factor in maintaining the attractiveness of tourism, supporting environmental balance, and supporting the local community's economic activities.
As part of the environmental agenda, coral reef conservation activities are carried out to support the recovery and protection of marine ecosystems. This effort is important considering that coral reefs have a strategic role in maintaining the balance of marine ecosystems, protecting biodiversity, and supporting the sustainability of marine tourism potential.
In addition to conservation activities, Blue Impact also provides financial literacy education for the community. Through this activity, coastal communities are expected to gain a better understanding of financial and business management, especially in supporting local economic potential based on tourism, fisheries, and community businesses.
This program is also equipped with free health check services as a form of concern for the quality of life of the community. Through this service, residents get the opportunity to check their health conditions directly while increasing awareness of the importance of maintaining health early.
The collaboration between PERURI and six other SOEs also received support from the South Lampung Regency Government. This synergy is in line with the spirit of developing a coastal area that is green, sustainable, and competitive, as well as supporting the strengthening of the potential of tourist villages in the region.
