JAKARTA - The development of artificial intelligence (AI) technology has changed the way organizations work, make decisions, and manage information. However, amid the acceleration of the adoption of this technology, the mastery of AI alone is not considered enough to answer the needs of the ever-evolving world of work.

The view was conveyed by the Director of Digital Business PERURI, Farah Fitria Rahmayati, at the BRAVO 500 Summit 2026 which was held by XLSMART for Business in Jakarta, on Thursday, June 11. The international-scale strategic forum brought together more than 1,500 company leaders, regulators, educational institutions, and industry players to discuss various solutions to accelerate national digital transformation.

In a session titled "AI and Data Integration for Education: Solutions for Corporations, Solutions for the State", Farah explained that AI has become an important part of various modern business processes, ranging from data analysis to faster and more accurate decision-making. However, human ability remains a determining factor in producing the right and valuable decisions.

"AI is able to help accelerate the analysis process and provide various data-based recommendations. But in the end, humans are still the party who determines how the information is used to solve real problems. Therefore, critical thinking skills are becoming increasingly important in the AI era," said Farah.

According to him, the current industry needs are also undergoing significant changes. If previously the world of work emphasized the mastery of theory and technical knowledge, now companies need talents who are able to combine the use of technology with analytical and problem-solving skills.

PERURI assesses that there are five main competencies that young people need to have, namely data literacy, AI literacy, digital product mindset, security and governance, and finally critical thinking and problem solving. Farah added that the development of these competencies cannot be done only by the industrial world. A closer collaboration is needed between the government, educational institutions, and the private sector to create a learning ecosystem that is relevant to future needs.

As GovTech Indonesia, PERURI continues to support the development of the national digital ecosystem through various innovations based on technology, data, and digital security. Through the use of AI and the right data integration, PERURI believes that Indonesia has a great opportunity to create superior digital talent who are able to compete globally while supporting the acceleration of national digital transformation.
