JEMBER - The construction of a People's School (SR) in Jember Regency, East Java, does not only provide classrooms, dormitories and other educational support facilities.
Inside the 7.4-hectare complex, the Ministry of Public Works (PU) also built a full-sized football field designed to follow the standards of the International Football Federation (FIFA).
The existence of the field is one of the most prominent facilities in the SR Jember area.
Not many schools in Indonesia, especially boarding schools for children from poor families, have football fields with international specifications.
The field has a dimension of 105x68 meters according to FIFA standards.

"Why can it be said that the international standard, so the dimensions of the football field are in accordance with FIFA standards, the drainage system is also in accordance with the standards applied by FIFA, the grass material and also the jogging track with the width in accordance with international standards," he explained.
Apart from the size of the field, the layered drainage system is also one of the advantages of the facility.
The system is designed to maintain the quality of the field surface in various weather conditions, so that it remains comfortable to use throughout the year.
The grass used is a type of matrella which is known to have good endurance for sports activities while providing comfort for players.
Overall, the progress of the Jember Regency SR construction has reached 74.14 percent as of June 5, 2026.
To pursue the completion target, the PU Ministry together with the contractor implemented around 1,000 workers and a number of heavy equipment.
SR Jember was built using the State Budget (APBN) with a contract value of IDR 221.99 billion and was carried out by KSO PT Nindya Karya (Persero) - Modern, with construction management support by PT Agrinas Jaladri Nusantara (Persero).
When it operates, SR Jember is targeted to be able to accommodate around 1,000 students at the elementary, junior high and high school levels, which are divided into 36 study groups.
Apart from classrooms and dormitories, the education complex is also equipped with teacher housing, mosques, worship buildings, multipurpose buildings, basketball courts, ceremonial fields, canteens, and various open spaces that support learning activities and student character development.
