JAKARTA - Bank Jakarta has prepared a strategy to strengthen its role as a link in the capital city's economic ecosystem through the Financial Operating System concept.
This step is considered important to support the transformation of Jakarta into an inclusive and sustainable global city.
Bank Jakarta President Director Agus H. Widodo said that Jakarta's current challenges are no longer in the development of physical infrastructure and the adoption of technology, but rather in the ability to connect various stakeholders in an integrated ecosystem.
"Jakarta does not lack buildings, roads, or technology. What needs to be strengthened is the connection between residents and services, MSMEs and markets, investors and opportunities, and the government and the community," said Agus in the Urban Talks BUMD: Catalyst City, Accelerator Development at Taman Ismail Marzuki, Friday, June 5.
According to him, Bank Jakarta wants to take a strategic role as a link between the city's financial sector, complementing the functions of other BUMD such as MRT Jakarta which plays a role in community mobility and Transjakarta as a public transportation platform.
To realize this vision, Bank Jakarta has prepared four main focuses. First, expand financial inclusion through digital services so that more people are connected to the formal financial system.
Second, strengthen the development of MSMEs through financing support, market access, business digitization, and supply chain strengthening.
Third, encourage access to housing financing through the housing inclusion program to help the community, especially the younger generation, obtain affordable housing.
The fourth strategy is to strengthen the investment climate to increase investor confidence in supporting the development of Jakarta.
Agus assessed that the development of global cities cannot only rely on the APBD, but requires greater investment participation from the private sector.
"The role of Bank Jakarta is not only to collect funds and channel credit, but to become a link between residents, MSMEs, governments, and investors in one city ecosystem," he said.
He added that digital transformation must go hand in hand with increased inclusion so that the benefits of development can be felt by all levels of society.
