Minister of Finance Purbaya: DHE SDA Policy Can Play a Role in Stabilizing the Rupiah Exchange Rate

JAKARTA - Minister of Finance Purbaya Yudhi Sadewa believes that the foreign exchange policy for natural resource exports (DHE SDA) can play a role in stabilizing the exchange rate or rupiah exchange rate.

Purbaya said the DHE SDA policy could increase the availability of foreign exchange in the country through the placement of natural resource export results in the national financial system.

With the increasing supply of foreign exchange, foreign exchange liquidity in the domestic market will be stronger so that it can support the stability of the rupiah exchange rate.

He estimated that the initial impact of the implementation of the policy would begin to be seen in the near future.

"When the sentiments that are developing in the market begin to subside, supported by the inflow of foreign exchange from exports into the country, the rupiah has the opportunity to strengthen again," said Purbaya, quoted by Antara, Thursday, June 4.

The State Treasurer assessed that the DHE SDA policy is one of the strategic steps to strengthen Indonesia's external resilience while ensuring that the benefits of national export results can have a greater impact on the domestic economy.

The combination of maintained economic fundamentals and increased domestic foreign exchange supply, according to the Minister of Finance, will be an important factor in strengthening the stability of the rupiah and the national financial sector in the future.

Increased liquidity and stricter supervision of DHE management will also make the Indonesian financial system more resilient to various global economic challenges.

Purbaya is optimistic that the DHE SDA policy will provide a positive sentiment for the financial market and investors.

In general, he also stated that he would continue to focus on maintaining the national economy to continue to grow and become stronger, as directed by President Prabowo Subianto.
