Minister PU asks for additional budget of Rp. 34.33 trillion, for what?

JAKARTA - Minister of Public Works (PU) Dody Hanggodo has requested an additional budget of Rp. 34.33 trillion for the 2026 fiscal year (TA).

The additional budget request was submitted to the Minister of Finance (Menkeu) Purbaya Yudhi Sadewa through a letter from the Minister of PU Number PR0201/B/Mn/2026/90 dated May 22, 2026.

The additional budget is needed to support the implementation of various priority programs of President Prabowo Subianto, such as the construction of People's Schools (SR), the construction of regional roads, the rehabilitation of madrasahs to the construction of irrigation.

He asked for support from Commission V of the DPR regarding the request for additional budget.

Dody explained that the additional budget of Rp30.98 trillion would be used for new infrastructure development programs.

Meanwhile, the remaining Rp3.35 trillion is for the continuation of the existing multiple-year contract financing.

"We ask for the support of Commission V so that the work that has become a presidential decree receives sufficient budgetary support," said Dody in a Working Meeting (Raker) with Commission V of the Indonesian House of Representatives at the Parliament Complex, Senayan, Jakarta, Tuesday, June 2.

For the needs of the continuation budget or Multi Years Contract (MYC) of Rp. 3.35 trillion is used for the construction of SR phase II of Rp. 1.33 trillion.

Then the development of regional roads amounted to Rp1.40 trillion and the development of irrigation networks and flood control infrastructure amounted to Rp620 billion.

"God willing, in 2026 the budget for the Regional Road Inpres and the Regional Irrigation Inpres, God willing, will be budgeted. So, the hope from the Chairman (Commission V) has been discussed with the President and immediately budgeted by Pak," he said.

Meanwhile, for new programs, Dody said, the budget needs reached Rp. 30.98 trillion, used for irrigation development in the region of Rp. 14.65 trillion, rehabilitation of religious schools or madrasahs of Rp. 380 billion.

Then, the construction of SR phase III in 2026/2027 with a value of Rp3.95 trillion and the construction of regional roads in 2026/2027 with a value of Rp12 trillion.
