JAKARTA - Minister of Public Works (PU) Dody Hanggodo revealed that the realization of the budget for the 2026 Fiscal Year (TA) had reached Rp. 33.49 trillion or around 31.39 percent as of the end of May 2026.
To note, the initial budget ceiling for the Ministry of PU in 2026 was set at IDR 118.89 trillion.
However, the ministry headed by Dody Hanggodo was hit by an efficiency of Rp12.71 trillion, leaving a budget ceiling of Rp106.18 trillion.
Currently, the ceiling of IDR 106.46 trillion has been allocated to the 2026 Budget Implementation List (DIPA), while the remaining IDR 252 billion is still in the process at the Ministry of Finance (Kemenkeu).
"The realization of the Ministry of PU's finances at the end of May 2026 amounted to IDR 33.49 trillion or approximately 31.39 percent of the ceiling, while the physical realization reached 35.71 percent," Dody said in a Working Meeting (Raker) with Commission V of the DPR RI at the Parliament Complex, Senayan, Jakarta, Tuesday, June 2.
Dody said that the achievement of the realization showed that the work in the field had been carried out, but it had not been completed completely.
"This figure shows that field work has been carried out, but it does not mean that the work is complete. Packages that have not been contracted, work has not reached the target and the quality of implementation remains mandatory for us to control," he said.
However, Dody claimed that the realization of the absorption of the budget in May 2026 was higher than the same period in the last two years.
As of May 2024, the realization of the Ministry of PU's finances only touched the figure of IDR 32.61 trillion or around 22.34 percent with a physical progress of 28.09 percent.
Meanwhile, in May 2025, the realization of finances amounted to Rp. 15.63 trillion or around 13.99 percent with physical realization only reaching 16.15 percent.
"Compared to May 2024 and May 2025, the achievement of 2026 indeed reached twice as high as the achievement of the budget in the same month of 2025. As for May 2026, the realization of finances reached 31.39 percent with a physical realization of 35.71 percent," said Dody.
In detail, the Water Resources (SDA) sector received a ceiling of Rp. 29 trillion, which was used to build dams, irrigation, flood control, and community-based infrastructure.
Next, the connectivity sector under the auspices of the Directorate General of Road Construction received the largest allocation, reaching Rp. 42.05 trillion.
The budget is used for the preservation or repair of roads and bridges, the construction of toll roads to handling regional roads.
Then, the Directorate General of Creative Industry received an allocation of Rp. 10.16 trillion which was focused on the construction of drinking water supply systems (SPAM), wastewater management, government building construction, and other community-based infrastructure programs.
Furthermore, for the Strategic Infrastructure Directorate General, which received a budget allocation of Rp. 23.84 trillion, including for the construction of People's Schools (SR), the revitalization of madrasahs to other public infrastructure.
"Then, we allocated Rp1.65 trillion for technical management support. The target remains the same (development of areas) water, irrigation, connectivity, sanitation and public infrastructure that directly impacts the community," said Dody.
