JAKARTA - The Trans Sumatra Toll Road (JTTS) operational service is ensured to run normally and under control even though there is a mass power outage by PLN in several areas of Sumatra.

Acting Executive Vice President (EVP) Corporate Secretary of Hutama Karya Hamdani said the company had taken anticipatory steps and quick responses on all affected sections through periodic monitoring, activation of generators, strengthening of fuel oil (BBM) stocks, and readiness of supporting equipment for transactions.

"All toll gates and supporting facilities affected have received backup power supply support through generators, so that transaction services, traffic management, and road user facilities can continue to operate," said Hamdani in a written statement, Saturday, May 23.

Based on field monitoring reports, operational services remain normal in the southern Sumatra region, covering the Terpeka Airport Route, Palembang-Indralaya (Palindra), Indralaya-Prabumulih (Indraprabu) and Bengkulu-Taba Penanjung (Bengtaba).

In the central Sumatra region, operational services also continue to run normally, covering the Pekanbaru-Dumai (Permai), Pekanbaru-Bangkinang-XIII Koto Kampar (Pekbangkopar), and Padang-Sicincin (Pacin) routes.

Meanwhile, in the northern Sumatra region, including the Binjai-Langsa (Binsa), Indrapura-Kisaran (Inkis) and Sigli-Banda Aceh (Sibanceh) routes, a number of toll gates and Rest and Service (TIP) affected by the blackout have been supported by generators, reserve fuel stocks and supporting equipment for transactions.

Meanwhile, for the Betung-Tempino-Jambi (Betejam) route, GT Pijoan and GT Muaro Sebapo were observed to be lit normally with PLN electricity supply.

Meanwhile, the GT Bayung Lencir is still experiencing a blackout and has been supported by a generator, including the readiness of a backup generator and sufficient fuel stocks. Traffic flow and transaction services on the section are still running normally under control.

Hamdani explained that a number of affected points such as GT Prabumulih had been supported by generators with sufficient fuel stocks, while GT Bengkulu was still receiving PLN electricity supply with generators in standby position.

Then, the GT Sungai Pinang and GT Bangkinang have been supported using generators, while some points such as the GT XIII Koto Kampar and the Padang-Sicincin route have regained PLN electricity supply.

"Meanwhile, the most sensitive routes and Palindra are monitored safely with transaction services and traffic flow remains normal and under control," he said.

He emphasized that all operational officers, traffic services, and maintenance teams remained on standby in the field to ensure that toll road services remained safe, smooth, and comfortable for road users.

Coordination is also being carried out with relevant parties to monitor the development of PLN electricity supply and ensure the readiness of backup power at each service point.

Road users are urged to continue to drive safely, ensure that the electronic money balance is sufficient before entering the toll gate and follow the instructions of officers in the field.

"We will continue to ensure that toll road operations are maintained during the blackout," he added.
