Cirebon Energi Prasarana (CEPR) has taken a significant step in strengthening safety culture and improving operational reliability through the implementation of IBM Maximo.
One of the leading private electricity producers in West Java is utilizing the Health, Safety, Work Environment (K3L) capabilities of IBM Maximo which is comprehensive. This capability includes energy isolation management, safety planning, and Work Permit (PTW) processes in fully digitized industrial operations.
This capability supports the automation of asset management while ensuring compliance with safety standards at its facilities.
The implementation of IBM Maximo by Cohesive, a company under Bentley Systems which is an IBM business partner, makes CEPR one of the first power plants in Indonesia that operates a digital-based integrated work permit and energy isolation management system on a large scale.
This achievement is also an important milestone in the modernization of power plant operations in the region. IBM Maximo has proven its benefits in a 47-day comprehensive maintenance activity on a 1,000 MW ultra-supercritical power plant unit owned by CEPR.
During the temporary operation suspension, thousands of work activities, management of large numbers of work permits, which directly affect safety, and supervision of hundreds of contractors in very tight operational time are required. Digital workflows and safety control capabilities in Maximo play an important role in ensuring that all processes run safely and are completed on time.
"The successful implementation of IBM Maximo shows the important role of digital platforms in improving safety, reliability, and operational performance on vital infrastructure. IBM is committed to continuing to collaborate with various industry players in Indonesia to accelerate the transformation of the energy sector, as well as to encourage smarter and more sustainable operations," said General Manager and Technology Leader, IBM ASEAN Catherine Lian in a written statement, Jakarta, May 21.
Cirebon Energy Infrastructure (CEPR) ICT Manager Andy Saputra said that IBM Maximo has changed the way CEPR maintains the safety and operation of the plant, especially in large-scale maintenance activities. By integrating asset management, safety, and operational workflows into a centralized and intelligent system, CEPR sets a new standard for the energy sector in Indonesia.
"We are committed to continuing to modernize operations while contributing to national energy security in the long term," he said.
Business Development Director (ASEAN), Cohesive Seno Hardijanto is proud to work with CEPR in adopting a comprehensive approach and digital solutions to improve performance on vital energy infrastructure.
This implementation is in line with Indonesia's national agenda to strengthen the reliability of energy supply, improve industrial safety, and accelerate digital transformation in vital infrastructure. The energy sector is also one of the main drivers of Indonesia's economic growth, contributing almost 10% to the Gross Domestic Product (GDP), while supporting industrial activities, exports, and job creation throughout the country.
