JAKARTA - The Gojek application-based transportation service provider platform (applicator) will remove the GoRide Hemat service subscription program for driver partners.
"Gojek will stop the subscription scheme for driver partners," said PT GoTo Gojek Tokopedia Tbk (GOTO) President Director/CEO Hans Patuwo at a press conference in Jakarta, Tuesday, May 19, reported by ANTARA.
Hans said this decision was a step for the company to adapt to Presidential Regulation (Perpres) Number 27 of 2026 regarding the reduction of income for driver partners.
In addition, this step is also a follow-up to the company's study of the GoRide Hemat program which has been tested since November 2025, and has been expanded in various regions in Indonesia since February 2026.
Hans said that regular GoRide is still the top-choice two-wheeled transportation service by customers compared to GoRide Hemat.
"After running for three months (since February 2026), we conducted an in-depth study and found that this subscription scheme needs a better balance for the welfare of driver partners," he said.
"Therefore, we have decided to stop the subscription program effective in the near future," he added.
Furthermore, Hans said the GoRide Hemat service will also follow the reduction in income deductions taken by the application company from online motorcycle drivers to eight percent.
"The impact of this, especially for the GoRide Hemat service, will be a very limited adjustment of consumer prices. We ensure that this adjustment is carried out in a measured manner and still prioritizes affordability for the community," he said.
He said the company understands that even a small increase in price can be felt by service users.
However, Hans ensured that this adjustment is expected to immediately provide benefits and maintain the welfare of driver partners.
Furthermore, he also ensured that there was no price increase for consumers in the regular GoRide service.
"And don't forget that right now if we compare between regular GoRide and GoRide Savings, GoRide regular is still used by more customers than GoRide Savings at Gojek at this time," said Hans.
"So we hope that we can also provide something stable and also a kind of responsibility of the company to our customers," he added.
