Government prepares Rp40 billion to restore coffee plantations in Aceh

JAKARTA - The government through the Ministry of Agriculture (Kementan) has prepared a budget of Rp. 40 billion for the restoration of damaged coffee plantation land in Aceh Province.

For information, the flood and landslide disasters that occurred in November 2025 caused thousands of hectares of coffee plantations in Bener Meriah and Central Aceh to be damaged.

The two areas have been known as the best producers of Arabica coffee.

"The budget we prepared was approximately Rp30 to Rp40 billion," said Minister of Agriculture Andi Amran Sulaiman when met at his residence, Jakarta, Wednesday, May 6.

Furthermore, Amran said, in an effort to recover this plantation, his party will involve Syiah Kuala University (Unsyiah) for nursery development.

"I met the rector this morning with the Director General. We will develop a kerha with the rector of Unsyiah. We will work together to build a nursery together to rebuild," he explained.

Launching various sources, at the end of 2025, Amran visited Aceh Governor Muzakir Munaf. The two discussed the recovery of the post-disaster agricultural sector in Aceh. Including coffee plantations.

"God willing, the agricultural sector in Aceh, ranging from damaged rice fields to coffee commodities, will be repaired. Starting in January, we will go directly to the field," said Amran.
