JAKARTA - East Java Governor Khofifah Indar Parawansa explained the strategy to make East Java a national food warehouse when receiving participants of the 35th Regular Education (Dikreg) Police Staff and Senior Leadership School (Sespimti) for the 2026 Budget at the Grahadi State Building.

"What we are doing is actually a synergy and collaboration between all elements. For example, food security, there is a contribution from the TNI-Polri which maps the area of additional planting, how tertiary irrigation can connect water sources with areas that need irrigation, and so on," said Governor Khofifah as reported by ANTARA, Wednesday, April 15.

Khofifah added that East Java's position as the "New Nusantara Gate" strengthens its role in national logistics distribution, especially to the eastern region of Indonesia.

"At BBIB we can get a lot of training on pregnancy supervision for pregnant heifers and artificial inseminator officers. Previously, there were nine governors who I asked to send a team so that they could be trained to learn here," he said.

He added that the success of the program has the potential to meet the needs of Free Nutritious Meals (MBG) as well as become a new source of income for the community.

"If this can be part of the plan of action, this meeting can be continued with a visit to BBIB Singosari. I think this will be a reinforcement. The artificial insemination process can be seen in 9 months. In 2 years, the average cow has reached 600 kilograms," he said.

In addition, East Java also contributes around 51-52 percent of national sugar production and has the potential to support sugar self-sufficiency.

Meanwhile, the Head of the Sespimti PKDN Delegation, Inspector General of Police Jawari, stated that this visit was aimed at implementing the leadership and managerial competencies obtained theoretically.
