JAKARTA - The Coordinating Minister for the Economy of the Republic of Indonesia, Airlangga Hartarto, received a visit from Chair of the Australian Productivity Commission Danielle Wood and the Australian Ambassador to the Republic of Indonesia Roderick Brazier in Jakarta.

He also highlighted the importance of digital transformation through the implementation of e-Government as a strategic step to encourage productivity, efficiency, and performance of the public sector.

Furthermore, Airlangga conveyed appreciation and full support for the sustainability of the PROSPERA program.

Regarding the second phase of the program, the Indonesian Government welcomes the involvement of the Australian Productivity Commission, especially in providing evidence-based policy recommendations to support policy reforms and national productivity improvement.

"Under the PROSPERA Phase II framework, the Australian Productivity Commission is expected to conduct research related to the development of a workforce that is adaptive to technological advances. In addition, the preparation of national recommendations regarding the use of artificial intelligence in Indonesia is one of the important aspects that need to be considered," explained Airlangga.

In addition, Airlangga highlighted the urgency of tax reform as part of the national priority agenda, and hoped that the issue could become the focus of the implementation of PROSPERA Phase II.

Meanwhile, Danielle conveyed Australia's readiness to strengthen cooperation in increasing the capacity of the public service sector.

According to him, this effort is aimed at encouraging increased productivity, investment, and sustainable economic growth in the future.

Similarly, Roderick emphasized the commitment of the Australian Government in supporting Indonesia's accession process to the Organization for Economic Co-operation and Development (OECD) and the Comprehensive and Progressive Agreement for Trans-Pacific Partnership (CPTPP).
